Dressed Up Frozen Foods

Pizza and buffalo wings. Salty, savory favorites of mine and millions! But they get old, and they are not good for you nutritionally. BUT in this age of sheltering in, it's easy to jazz up these freezer lurkers with some fresh, healthy pops of flavor...

Frozen Pizza. Not so supreme. But add chopped kalamata olives, chopped pepperoncini, edamame, parmesan, and crushed red pepper. Wowza! All of those ingredients were sitting in my fridge or freezer. Add a spinach side salad with more veg toppings and a home made vinaigrette, and you have a great meal that balances salty, sour, sweet and savory.

Occasionally I have a HUGE craving for wings and blue cheese, but don't want to pay high prices at restaurants or take the time to make them from scratch. These frozen strips curbed my craving perfectly! While strips were warming up in the oven, I made a creamy blue cheese dressing, chopped a celery stalk, and grated part of a carrot. Tossed all of that with spinach and come frozen peas and topped with the sliced strips and some home made white bread croutons. YES.
